AdultEducation

Antioch cares deeply about truth, and we believe that education and discipleship are central to loving the Lord with all our minds (Mark 12:30). We take the Christian worldview to be the uniquely accurate and satisfying account of the world in which we live. But our culture’s reigning elites—secular materialists in the sciences, academia, and the media—have marginalized Christianity, portraying science as factual and objective and Christianity as personal, subjective, and devoid of factual basis. Clearly, there is much educational work needed if the church is to be filled with effective ambassadors for Christ (II Cor. 5:20) and ministers of reconciliation (II Cor. 5:18) to a needy world.

The vision for educating the adults at Antioch (as well as others from the larger community) is centered on Kilns College. We see this school as a natural extension of Antioch’s commitments and mission, and feel called to ensure that it is utilized to its greatest potential in preparing adults from Antioch and students from Central Oregon and elsewhere to grow in the knowledge of God and His dealings in history and in our personal lives. Classes at Kilns College are designed to be accessible to full-time students and working adults, and to provide each with the intellectual and personal integrity to respond to God’s unique missional call upon their lives. It is our hope that all adults who make Antioch their church home will try to take advantage of this opportunity for higher education with which God has seen fit to bless us.
