What is a podcast?
A podcast (in this case) is an audio file that you can either play directly across the Internet (called streaming) or more commonly download onto your computer. The kind of file we’ll be using for Antioch is downloadable. You can then choose to transfer it to an mp3 player, burn to CD, or just listen to it in your computer.

Do I need an iPod to listen to a podcast?
Not at all! This often causes confusion. The term podcast is simply a combination of ‘iPod’ and ‘broadcast’, since the iPod is arguably the most common portable music player.

What’s this about subscribing to a podcast?
A common way of keeping track of when new podcasts are released is by using an RSS or podcast reader. This will inform you of new podcasts, much like you would receive an e-mail, and can be set to automatically download new shows to your computer. Examples of software to manage podcasts for you include Juice and iTunes.
