Making central Oregon the second stop of their nine-month U.S. tour, the Matsiko Ugandan Children’s Choir performed for the Antioch church service on Apr. 27, 2008. After singing for the congregation, the choir gave a separate performance for students in the Antioch Kids Ministry. Antioch kids were then given the opportunity to interact with the choir kids and ask questions about life in Uganda.

International Children’s Network (ICN) sponsors each child in the Matsiko Ugandan Children’s Choir. ICN ensures that each sponsored child is supported through university and vocational level education. ICN hopes that through educating children in developing nations, children will develop the skills necessary to increase the quality of life in such nations.

The church had a pizza lunch after the service in honor of the choir. Antioch members bought shirts, CDs and Ugandan jewelry from the choir. Church-goers enjoyed interacting with the kids and seeing their performance.
