Mosaic, Antioch's college/career group, had its first meeting at the intern house on Sunday evening, October 15. It began early with a full nacho bar followed by ice cream. Talk about a gut ache! With close to 30 people there it was tough not to meet someone new. When everyone’s stomach was full, we went around the room answering the crowd breaker, "brushing your tongue, do you or don’t you?"
Believe it or not, there was also plenty of serious time. The words to the worship songs were amazing and helped us focus. The time of music was followed by a talk on the struggle we all have focusing our attention on God and not on ourselves.
The vision of Mosaic was also shared. In addition to getting everyone excited for the future, it also convicted and inspired everyone to pursue others and work toward becoming an inclusive community.
Afterward, it was fun getting to know one another, especially amidst a pretty heated game of Mafia. Many people stayed long into the night joking and laughing, making connections and building friendships.
Lastly, in an answer to prayer, someone stepped forward the day after the launch to help create a web page for Mosaic. Check us out online at www.bendmosaic.com
