I
had a dream last night of a magical land, misty and full of little green
frogs. These weren’t your typical, ordinary kind of
frogs, they were different. Not only was their body shape and size
unusual, but their coloring as well. They were only half green,
with tan colored limbs and a variety of hair color including brown, yellow
and even red! These frogs weren’t stationary either; they
jumped around from land to water, eating as they went. They were
even educated, taking time out of all their hoping to learn stories about
humans. I was amazed! I sat on a lily pad just watching them,
soaking up all their energy and vitality.
Then a noise startled me and I realized that I wasn’t actually
in a magical land, but sadly in my own bed. As I was pondering
my sad circumstances, slowly a smile crept across my face. This
wasn’t a dream at all. It actually happened! I had
been in a magical land. Wildflower Park, although not far away,
was green and misty and full of water, especially on the slip-n-slide. And
the frogs I had dreamed about really did exist, only they could speak
and resembled
more the human specie than the amphibian variety.
I
realized that the last 3 days had been magical, full of fun and laughter. I
couldn’t wait until next year!
Summer Swamp Days was a blast! Thank you so much to all of our volunteers for taking time out of your busy schedules to invest in the lives of our children. We had about 18-23 kids every day, which is so exciting! The Staff had a great time getting to know all your wonderful children. We can’t wait for the chance to see you and your friends again next year!
