SummerBBQ

Each Sunday, June 29 through the end of July, we did a BBQ after the church service. The first BBQ of the summer was held at the Kilns as a Kilns grand opening. One Sunday we did Aaron Wells’ famous teriyaki chicken; another Sunday we did a create-your-own sub sandwich; other than that it was burgers and dogs, all the way. Each week we had an amazing team of dedicated grill-masters: Jerry Hackenbrook, Mike Buyler, Joe Madden, David Lenke, Mike Mitchel, and Andy Blyer. A huge thank you should go out to Nicole Bloyer, who did nearly all the shopping and set up each week for the average 125-person event. The highlight was the inflatable jumpy castle we rented, the kids loved it! An unexpected highlight was when the sprinklers came on one Sunday and the kids turned the wet grass into a huge slip and slide!
